Shared Leadership Leads to Shared Success

The environment nonprofits operate continues to change. Constant vigilance and strategy shifts require nonprofit boards and leadership to be aligned and prepared. This series facilitates opportunities for the Board Chair (or incoming Chair) and Executive leader to define their conditions for leadership success, board engagement, and mission impact in the communities they serve.

In this three-part program participants identify:

  • Their role in understanding and defining the organizational Leadership Capacity needed to achieve the nonprofit's desired outcomes
  • What it means to ensure that the Board serves as an asset to the organization in its fiduciary role
  • The benefits of and what it takes to develop successful partnerships and shared leadership
  • What the benefit is, and the efforts required to develop and sustain Authentic Board Engagement
  • Ways to ensure the Board maintains integrity to the nonprofit’s values and outcomes and engages in continual reflection and learning to sustain those values and outcomes across board member rotation

This program is ideal for:

  • Incoming or future Board Chairs and Executives
  • Board Chairs and incoming Executives
  • Board Chairs and Executives who want to enhance their success
  • Board Chairs and Executives who want to energize Board Engagement

Program Elements:

  • Full-day in-person session on September 7th
  • Two 90-minute virtual sessions at 5:30 pm October 13th and November 17th
  • One personalized follow up session with each organization in December
  • Handouts and thought-provoking articles to take back to the organization and Board for further     exploration
  • Six Month check-in on progress towards goals


Fee: $1000 per organization (thanks to Endsley P. Fairman, scholarships are available)
