Chief Human Resource Officer - Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay Council
Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay Council is an organization with a long and proud tradition of excellence serving the girls of Delaware and the Chesapeake Bay region. We are seeking a Chief Human Resources Officer who will provide strategic Human Resource Leadership to attract, develop and retain the best talent available and to position the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay Council (GSCBC) as an “Employer of Choice.” The CHRO leads the development and implementation of the Human Resources agenda in partnership with the GSCBC Senior Leadership Team. Functions include employee relations, recruitment and retention, strategic performance management, compensation and benefits, training of staff and leadership development, HR information systems, diversity and inclusion, improving the GSCBC culture and climate and a resource to department heads in change management. The CHRO reports to the Chief Executive Officer and supervises the Human Resources Assistant.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated human resources leadership and management experience in an innovative, fast paced, highly collaborative environment; Significant experience directing and managing the activities of a human resources function, including direct experience in strategy development and organizational design; Excellent management, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; Demonstrated experience with multi-year strategic planning and organizational design and development; Bachelor’s degree along with a minimum of 5-8 years of progressive Human Resources experience; Master’s Degree preferred.

Our Council, founded in 1962 as an affiliate of GSUSA, has a membership of 7,500 girls and 3,400 adults supported by 37 full-time and 65 part-time staff with a budget of $4.6 million. Our headquarters is located in Newark, DE, a regional office in Salisbury, MD and 4 camps in Delaware and Maryland.
