DANA Cancellation & Refund Policy

Workshop registrations will not be confirmed until registration is complete and paid in full.

Cancellations must be at least 7 days prior to the scheduled workshop date to receive a full refund. No shows and cancellations within 7 days of the workshop will not receive a refund of their registration cost. To cancel or reschedule, please submit an email to Louise Koonce at lkoonce@delawarenonprofit.org.

Cancellation by DANA

Dana may cancel workshops due to insufficient enrollment or inclement weather. Registrants will be offered the option to reschedule to a future workshop or to receive a full refund.

DANA is not responsible for any expenses incurred by the registrant is a workshop is cancelled.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:  This is an interactive and action focused training that accentuates on cultural change, the importance of stepping outside one’s comfort zone, and creating space that genuinely embraces inclusion and diversity. While developing personal and professional methodologies, participants will build awareness about generational cycles that have influenced unhealthy social practices.  

In this training we will discuss ways to end prejudice by elaborating on the importance of individual investigation, increase in knowledge, and the elimination of fear and negative beliefs of other groups. Through these discussions participants will build knowledge about conscious and subconscious practices of stereotypes, discrimination, prejudice, and assumptions that influence daily actions.  

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: During this training, participants will be able to: 

1. Become familiarized with unhealthy practices and norms that influence generational cycles of disruptive practices, assumptions, prejudice, and discrimination.  
2. Discuss the difference between equity and equality and their significance in developing sensitivity and fair justice.  
3. Discuss the importance of prioritizing and applying universal culture, while expressing authenticity when interacting with others. 
4. Become acquainted with “real-life” scenarios that others may face, and discuss culturally sensitive solutions.  
5. Discover and discuss individual biases, challenges and strengths.  

HIGHLIGHTED KEY ACTIVITIES: 
1. In small groups, discuss “real-life” scenarios that individuals face.   
2. Discuss reflective questions. 
3. Role play “real-life” scenario, discussion solutions, and analyze alternative methods to handling the scenarios.

CERTIFICATE: A certificate of completion and contact hours will be provided to participants at the end of the workshop.
