DANA Cancellation & Refund Policy

Workshop registrations will not be confirmed until registration is complete and paid in full.

Cancellations must be at least 7 days prior to the scheduled workshop date to receive a full refund. No shows and cancellations within 7 days of the workshop will not receive a refund of their registration cost. To cancel or reschedule, please submit an email to Louise Koonce at lkoonce@delawarenonprofit.org.

Cancellation by DANA

Dana may cancel workshops due to insufficient enrollment or inclement weather. Registrants will be offered the option to reschedule to a future workshop or to receive a full refund.

DANA is not responsible for any expenses incurred by the registrant is a workshop is cancelled.

This Signature DANA Training highlights the best practices and important aspects of board governance universal to small and large nonprofits alike.

Topics will include:

  • Roles and responsibilities of board members and CEOs
  • Performance & Evaluation
  • Questions to prompt transformational thinking at board meetings

A trained governance consultant who will take participants through hands-on learning based on Standards for Excellence and contemporary leadership practices. Executive Directors, Chairs, and Board Members are encouraged to register.

Instructor: Sheila Bravo
Sheila joined DANA as President and CEO in August 2015. She is the former Executive Director of the Rehoboth Art League in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Her professional experience spans nonprofit, for-profit, and academia. She began her career in advertising, then in brand leadership positions launching new products, expanding businesses internationally, and developing strategic growth plans for brands such as Vlasic Pickles, Godiva Chocolatier, Corelle Dinnerware, Corningware Ovenware and Pyrex bakeware. She transitioned to provide strategic planning, new product and leadership consulting services to mid-size companies and nonprofit organizations in a variety of industries. Her work led her to pursue a doctorate in leadership, specializing in non-profit governance. 

Bravo has a PhD in Organizational Leadership from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, an MBA in International Business from Thunderbird School of Global Management, and a BS in Business and Languages from Millersville University.
