Community Outreach Coordinator and Educator

7/31/2025

The SNAC Garden Foundation is seeking a Spanish-speaking part-time Garden Educator and Community Outreach Coordinator to assist us in teaching in our outdoor classroom at North Georgetown Elementary and building relationships with families and the greater Georgetown-Millsboro community.

This is a year-round, part-time position that averages 15 hours per week during our two programming seasons, and 10–12 hours per week in the off-season. The hourly rate starts at $25/hr.

The SNAC Garden Educator will be responsible for managing an outdoor garden classroom and teaching the SNAC curriculum to students at our North Georgetown Elementary (NGE) location in Georgetown. Our two programming seasons are September–November and mid-March–mid-June. During scheduled weeks, educators are expected to be on site Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:20am to 3:00pm. The SNAC Garden Educator will foster a safe learning environment for students supported by inclusivity, exploration, and curiosity. The SNAC Garden Foundation will provide curriculum and garden training to educators before the season starts.

As Community Outreach Coordinator, this role will also support community engagement efforts through bilingual outreach, attending local events, helping with communications and storytelling, and strengthening relationships with families, schools, and community partners. This will occur during weeks with no scheduled programming, and the outreach work can mostly be done remotely and on your own time. However, there will be instances where you will need to attend events in person. This work helps ensure the long-term success and sustainability of our garden programs by rooting them deeply in the local community.
