Executive Summary

The Hope Commission is a non-profit organization committed to finding innovative strategies to positively impact Delaware’s most underserved communities. The organization provides rehabilitative programs that promote successful community re-entry using assessments, job training, educational and peer support, behavioral health services, and family re-unification programs, all from a single location. Additionally, the organization provides reentry service programs Women's Reentry, Dover Hope Zone, Reentry Supportive Housing and Georgetown Hope Zone.

Reporting

The Deputy Director reports to the Executive Director. He/she is expected to leverage his/her skills, experience and abilities to provide overall strategic direction and operational oversight of The Hope Commission's staff, programs, expansion, fundraising, and execution of mission.

Key Responsibilities

Business Acumen / Business Management:

  • Provide strategic leadership and management of The Hope Commission.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization.
  • Serve as the organization’s authorized representative with respect to contracts, grants and other binding agreements.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the organization’s key performance indicators.
  • Understand the laws, regulations, and processes applicable to the populations served.
  • Ensure development of appropriate policies and procedures for compliance with all federal, state, local, and organizational regulations.
  • Skilled in data acquisition and analytics to drive business solutions and strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess solid computer skills.
  • Flexibility with personal work schedule to meet unexpected work demands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, or as needed to ensure smooth operations of the organization.

Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the organization’s primary spokesperson to promote awareness of the work of the Commission
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with key community partners and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with local, state, and national agencies, organizations, and policy makers to influence systems of care and services that impact the populations served.
  • Strong marketing and public relations skills, including the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people and to achieve desired outcomes through collaboration and coalition building.

Talent Management:

  • Recruit, retain, and performance manage highly qualified staff to ensure the effective operation of the organization.
  • Support the Clinical Director in expanding current programs and developing new programs in a manner consistent with the mission of The Hope Commission.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills sufficient to stimulate good morale, promote personal development, and facilitate open communication with staff and constituents.

Summary of Qualifications

The Deputy Director is expected to be thoroughly committed to The Hope Commission's mission. Must have a passion for the mission and purpose of the organization. Proven leadership, personnel management, fundraising, and relationship cultivation experience is essential to success. Bachelor’s Degree with at least seven years of progressive leadership experience, or equivalent work experience.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
