Director of Programs
Position Title: Director of Programs
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Classification: Salary, Exempt, Full-Time
Position Summary: The Director of Programs at NAMI Delaware is responsible for strategically overseeing, developing, and expanding a comprehensive range of mental health programs and services across all counties and demographics within Delaware. The Director ensures compliance with national standards, fosters inclusive and stigma-reducing environments, and collaborates across departments to advance NAMI Delaware's mission effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategically expand NAMI Delaware’s programmatic reach to all Delaware counties, including diverse demographics and ensuring full compliance with NAMI National's required signature programs, while increasing non-signature events.
- Oversee appropriate supervision, training, and quality control of staff, interns, and volunteers.
- Ensure all required documentation is accurately completed and submitted timely to NAMI National via the provided portals.
- Manage and maintain organized, accessible records for continuity, collaboration, and operational efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with other directors to ensure cross-functional integration, sharing information and tasks.
- Identify and implement strategies to enhance advocacy, education, and outreach.
- Proactively expand NAMI Delaware’s presence and programs in underserved areas, targeting diverse demographics throughout all counties.
- Increase organizational capacity to deliver signature and non-signature events required or encouraged by NAMI National.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and continuous improvement for the NAMI Delaware Help Line and other critical services.
- Actively assist with grant identification, application, and management in partnership with senior leadership and development teams.
- Ensure collaboration and integration among departmental Directors to facilitate unified operations and shared objectives.
- Lead the evaluation and continuous improvement of program effectiveness, ensuring accurate demographic data collection and analysis as required by grants and contracts.
Experience, Education, and Licensure:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, Mental Health Counseling, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mental health programming or advocacy, with proven leadership capabilities.
- Certifications in CIT, Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA), or Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), and QPR preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Demonstrated experience building community partnerships, managing grants, and working with diverse populations.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for travel to program sites, meetings, and events.
