Executive Director
The Delaware Alliance Against Sexual Violence (DAASV) is seeking a full-time Executive Director who will provide leadership, a passion to incite social change, and a commitment to supporting the Delaware community in our work against sexual assault. The position is 100% grant funded. The Executive Director will report directly to the Board of Directors.
About the Delaware Alliance Against Sexual Violence
The DAASV, founded in 2019, is a statewide, nonprofit organization that serves as Delaware’s federally recognized state sexual assault coalition. The DAASV’s mission is to address Sexual Violence in Delaware by creating an inclusive community that supports survivors through advocacy, intervention, and awareness. The DAASV engages in a variety of activities focused on changing the societal conditions and attitudes that contribute to sexual violence. These activities will focus on public education efforts, training and technical assistance, prevention and policy initiatives, and systems advocacy.
Roles and Responsibilities
Board Governance: Collaborates with the board in order to fulfill DAASV’s mission:
- Responsible for leading the DAASV in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
- Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.
- Develop a positive working relationship with the DAASV’s Board of Directors, member organizations, and the community-at-large to enact social change.
Organization Mission and Strategy: Works with staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled.
- Responsible for implementation of organization’s programs that carry out the organization’s mission and strategic plan.
- Responsible for the enhancement of the organization’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic, and private organizations.
- Enhance collaborative networks to support the work of the DAASV and its member organizations. This includes hosting bi-monthly Alliance meetings for member organizations.
Financial Performance and Viability: Develops resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization.
- Responsible for the fiscal integrity of the organization, including submission to the Board a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements.
- Responsible for fiscal management that generally includes operating within the approved budget, ensuring maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
- Develop and implement a fundraising plan that diversifies the DAASV’s donor base by identifying and cultivating relationships to generate revenue from major donors, foundations, government agencies, and corporations.
Organization Operations: Oversees and implements appropriate resources.
- Responsible for the effective administration of organization's operations.
- Responsible for hiring and supervising staff and volunteers, including regular evaluations.
- Responsible for signing all notes, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization.
- Manage time distribution records as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of and experience related to sexual violence issues and social change.
- Bachelor's degree required with a master's degree preferred. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a master's degree.
- Five or more years (nonprofit) management and grant administration experience preferred or comparable experience required.
- Strong background in trauma-informed leadership principles.
- Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget.
- Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to the nonprofit sector.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Salary: $85,000-$95,000 plus a competitive benefits package that includes healthcare, dental, professional development opportunities, paid time off, and hybrid in-office and work from home schedule.
