Material Processing Assistant

Employment Type:

Part-Time, Hourly $15 start pay

Work week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday - 6am-12pm

Position Summary:

This is a part time job in sustainable manufacturing. We make durable outdoor furniture from recycled plastic. This role is entitled to running a piece of machinery called a granulator. You will feed material into the top of the machine and it renders plastic into smaller more manageable chips that will be used to melt and fill molds for all products produced. All material handled on site is second hand post-consumer recyclables and other household plastic items that lead directly into a useable form of material for our other machines. You will learn some basic plastic material science.

Our mission is to collect consumer plastic waste from our community and transform it into purposeful consumer goods that the community can then use creating a sustainable recycling system. We want to reinvent how the world views plastic waste—transforming what’s discarded into purposeful products while fostering education, inspiring community action, and providing opportunities to people of all abilities with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder. Job Requirements:

-Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

-Basic material science (will train)

-Running machinery

- Wearing and proper use of PPE- personal protective equipment

-Sorting of material
