Program Director
As the leader of the nonprofit sector, the Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement's mission is to shape and advance the systems and conditions that empower nonprofits to amplify their impact throughout Delaware.
Reporting to the CEO, the Program Director supports DANA’s mission by leading DANA’s programs that help to connect, convene, and strengthen nonprofit capacity. Specifically, the position leads DANA’s Nonprofit Accelerator serving as the Accelerator Navigator, DANA’s Annual IMPACT Conference, Board Connections, workshops and other learning initiatives.
Employment Status: Full-time, Exempt
Supervises: Program Associate, contracted instructors
Responsibilities:
• Serve as DANA’s Nonprofit Accelerator Navigator which includes scheduling cohort programming, addressing Accelerator participant needs, tracking cohort engagement, overseeing learning partners and curriculum, evaluation process, planning for future cohort application and selection processes, and internal leadership and coordination with DANA staff who provide consulting and coaching to the cohort. Prepare program outcome updates for inclusion in funder reporting requests.
• Manage DANA’s learning and connection programs to include DANA Annual IMPACT Delaware Conference, Board Connections, Communities of Practice, on-demand and scheduled training sessions. Identify new learning opportunities and manage the budgets, track engagement, and report quarterly to the DANA board.
• In partnership with the CEO, identify instructors for delivering public education sessions, and customized training requests for Alliance Partners, and other companies interested in engaging their employees (or those they serve) with nonprofit volunteerism and board service.
• Leverage the DANA website to create access to DANA’s materials for participants in DANA programs and use Monday.com to track project progress and engagement.
• Supervise the Program Associate to ensure DANA programs are current in GrowthZone and tracked appropriately on Monday.com.
• Routinely provide input on content for DANA’s CENTERS of Excellence and newsletters.
• Other Duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
• Able to travel frequently across the state
• Requires sitting for long periods of time
• Can carry up to 25 lbs.
While no candidate will meet every qualification, ideal candidates will have these experiences and skills:
• A Master’s degree or equivalent experience in business, organizational leadership, organizational development, leadership, human resources or related degree.
• A minimum of 4 years' experience in learning and development in a corporate or nonprofit setting. Certifications in leadership training models, board governance, diversity, equity & inclusion a plus.
• Experience with current L&D trends, tech-forward approaches, and agile methodologies.
• Has created and implemented successful multi-speaker conferences
• Ability to employ adult learning principles and innovative strategies.
• Excellent project management skills with experience working with multi-disciplinary teams to execute new initiatives and events
• Good written and communication skills and strong interpersonal skill with experience communicating to a diverse internal and external stakeholders
• An individual who rates high in emotional intelligence – self-aware, self-control and the ability to “read” and lead others well. A person known for strong listening skills and the ability to facilitate and synthesize ideas.
• A team player that appreciates giving and receiving constructive feedback to improve performance.
• A self-starter with internal motivation to do a job well, who is organized, deadline driven and can comfortably manage multiple initiatives at a time.
• Highly proficient working within Microsoft office 365 applications, Adobe, Monday.com, SharePoint, TEAMS, SLACK, and other system platforms.
• Sound, fact-based decision-making skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
• Able to collect, analyze, and interpret data.
• Able to travel throughout the state of Delaware.
Additional Preferred Experience:
• Direct service, nonprofit experience working directly with boards of directors.
• Knowledge of Delaware, Delaware nonprofits, and the environment in which they operate.
In addition to a starting salary of $70,000 - $75,000 based on experience, DANA offers benefits including paid leave, health, vision, dental and retirement. DANA also offers the option to work remotely for a portion of the work week after the initial orientation period.
