Resource Development Director

About the Position:

NeighborGood Partners is seeking a talented and visionary Resource Development Director to join our management team and play a critical role in advancing our mission through donor development, fundraising efforts, and grants management.
In this role, you will oversee fundraising and grant development for NeighborGood Partners. Talented resource development expertise with broad knowledge, superior technical skills, and solid track record in grant writing is required. The Resource Development Director is member of the management team and will provide guidance to the CEO and management team on funding opportunities and strategies.
Employment Status: The position will be a full-time employee of NeighborGood Partners, with competitive salary and benefits.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000
Supervisor: Chief Executive Officer
Location: This role will primarily be based in our Dover office, with some flexibility for remote days when appropriate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Grants Management
Cultivate, establish, and maintain productive funding sources in government, foundation, and business sectors
Arrange/attend cultivation meetings along with CEO and other senior staff
Research and make strategic decisions on grant prospects
Author applications and proposals for program, operating, and capital needs
Manage contractor grant writing and other support staff
Administer the grants database program and related technology
Provide regular, complete and detailed reports to CEO and funders on all grant activity, coordinate with Line of Business Vice Presidents
Fundraising
Perform donor prospect research and develop campaign contacts and strategy
Oversee and provide training and guidance for identification, solicitation, and stewardship of individual gifts
Lead annual direct mail, email, on-line and individual fundraising campaigns
Direct annual, planned, and major giving initiatives
Oversee donor communications and record-keeping systems and coordinate with the Marketing and Communications Manager on the creation of fundraising materials
Internal Activities
Staff the Board Fundraising & Marketing Committee
Meet with CEO and management team to collaborate on concepts and to develop proposals
Create and nurture a culture of philanthropy
Other
Stay informed on local, regional, national and industry-wide philanthropy developments and affordable housing data
Maintain appropriate professional memberships and journal subscriptions
Attend relevant workshops, seminars, webinars, and conferences
Recommend worthwhile reading/viewing materials to Board and colleagues
Represent NeighborGood Partners to various audiences in a professional manner
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required (master’s degree a plus) in English, journalism, business administration, or another appropriate field
At least 5 - 7 years of experience in a senior leadership role with a track record of successful fundraising and grants writing experience.
Skills and Abilities
A talented fundraising generalist with expertise in donor development and fundraising
Demonstrated accomplishment in grant writing and grants management
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively
Strategic thinker with the ability to plan long-term and execute operationally
High level of emotional intelligence with the ability to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, taking initiative when necessary
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet applications
Preferred: Well-connected to experts, thought leaders, and Delaware philanthropic sector
