SARC Legal and Medical Services Trainer

CUSTOMER IMPACT STATEMENT:

Our goal is to deliver a crisis response affirming the dignity of clients and facilitating a path of resiliency and recovery for individuals whose lives have been impacted by acts of sexual and domestic violence. The SARC Legal and Medical Services Trainer’s primary responsibilities are to recruit, train, and supervise advocates (staff and volunteer) to coordinate survivor requests for legal and medical services including accompaniments. Additional duties include developing and providing education and training to community partners for identification, early intervention, and referral of sexual and domestic violence survivors throughout Delaware. This position reports to the SARC Victim Services Director.


PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES (may include, but not limited to):

Priority Objectives

Responsibility for coordination of recruitment, training, and supervision of advocates serving survivors of sexual and domestic violence and sex trafficking

Coordinate recruitment, training, and supervision efforts for advocates both onboarding and continuing education.

Provide follow-up support and connection to additional resources for clients seeking legal and medical services.

Collect, manage and report data related to recruitment, training, and supervision of advocates for grants and OMS.


Responsibility for developing collaborative community partnerships in the community for supporting recruitment, training, and service of advocates

  • Develop strategy for building community partner relationships in all three counties and specifically targeting organizations serving diverse at risk populations.
  • Document and support community partners’ education and training needs and match with training and materials to support identification, referral, and early intervention with survivors.
  • Track and monitor volunteer recruitment efforts, training classes, and advanced training topics.
  • Attend monthly SARC staff meetings and provide updates to Staff on recruitment, training, and supervision efforts.

Develop legal and medical service materials for advocate training and community partner trainings

  • Select and develop with SARC staff the materials to include in advocate training.
  • Track feedback and additional requests for support materials.
  • Develops and distributes SV Toolkits and outreach materials to community partners to support survivors.
  • Develops and implements education and training initiatives that support community partners and medical providers in early identification and referral of survivors statewide.

Maintain and grow positive internal and external relationships to ensure achievement of service delivery goals.

  • Support YWCA program leaders in identifying and recruiting new community partners and opportunities to deliver services thru outreach.
  • Maintain current stakeholder relationships and identify opportunities to strengthen partnerships through additional service delivery or special projects.
  • Work with community partners to identify and recruit potential program volunteers and build awareness of services offered at SARC.

Provide scheduling and shift coverage for program services On Call NCC, and to ensure 24/7 access for crisis intervention

  • 1. Track, schedule, and complete monthly schedule of service On Call     shifts.
  • 2. Support coordination of client services across residential housing         programs and SARC, and other YW programs as needed.

Other Duties include:


Ensure maximum economy in the use of Agency resources.  Attendance at agency and/or departmental staff meetings as required.  Represents the YWCA, SARC, and participant needs internally and to the community in a positive manner.




QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related legal and medical services field plus 1-2 years’ experience in similar social or human service agency/shelter or associate degree and 2 years’ experience working with violence victims in target populations
  • Training skills and experience in-person and virtual reguired


Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years case management experience working with diverse populations

Exceptional computer skills: Microsoft Office [Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point required]

Demonstrated organization and project management skills

Ability to manage/prioritize multiple projects

Ability to communicate and work with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds

Essential Functions:

Salary: $55-65k
