SUMMARY: The Teacher/Classroom Proctor (“Proctor”) is a pivotal part-time role responsible for supporting academic enrichment for school age students in The Choir School of Delaware’s (“CSD”) after school program. The Proctor will support roughly 30-40 students four days a week with the assistance of staff and multiple volunteers. The Proctor is an integral member of the CSD team and will work closely with other team members to provide holistic and individualized support to all students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Provide classroom management during the after school study hall period.
Carry out daily after school programs, assessing and addressing individual student needs.
Homework assistance, IXL Learning Curriculum (training available), and Silent Reading Time
Manage attendance with Child Pilot program.
Coordinate and collaborate with program staff and community partners as needed.
Promote the mission and vision of CSD and its programs with families, volunteers, staff, other organizations, and the general public.
Maintains a safe work environment and exhibits safe work practices.
Performs other related duties as required.
COMPENSATION: $25-$30 per hour, consummate experience and relevant credentials.
SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY: The Teacher/Classroom Proctor must adhere to the following schedule:
Up to 12 hours per week. Follows Brandywine School District Calendar (i.e. Sept - May)
Mondays through Thursdays 3:00pm-6:00pm, No Fridays
This schedule is non-negotiable
Additional meetings and trainings as needed, flexible.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job, candidates should possess the following:
Passion for providing educational opportunities and support to students.
Commitment to empowering historically marginalized populations.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
Preferred: One - three years of experience in education or social services.
