DANA Cancellation & Refund Policy

Workshop registrations will not be confirmed until registration is complete and paid in full.

Cancellations must be at least 7 days prior to the scheduled workshop date to receive a full refund. No shows and cancellations within 7 days of the workshop will not receive a refund of their registration cost. To cancel or reschedule, please submit an email to Louise Koonce at lkoonce@delawarenonprofit.org.

Cancellation by DANA

Dana may cancel workshops due to insufficient enrollment or inclement weather. Registrants will be offered the option to reschedule to a future workshop or to receive a full refund.

DANA is not responsible for any expenses incurred by the registrant is a workshop is cancelled.

Leading Engagement for Innovation

Leaders design other’s success. This interactive session, facilitated by Tony Middlebrooks, Ph.D., will focus on how individuals can enhance their ability to build engagement and foster creativity within their staff (and themselves).  Understand how leaders can influence motivation for greater engagement through both context and personal development. Then, foster creativity and creative confidence for innovation. Identify self-imposing curbs to creativity, learn new tools for enhancing creativity, and open the door to greater innovation. Participants are encouraged to examine their own leadership and organizational context, and asked to apply concepts to their organization.

  • Assessing and building your CORE™ capacities for innovation – creative confidence and resilience

Brief Bio - Tony Middlebrooks, Ph.D.

Tony Middlebrooks, Ph.D. creates tools, explores and teaches at the intersection of leadership, innovation, creativity and design as Associate Professor and Director of the Siegfried Leadership Initiative for Horn Entrepreneurship at the University of Delaware. Dr. Middlebrooks has created and taught more than 35 different courses for all collegiate levels, as well as numerous experiential abroad programs. He presently teaches leadership theory and practice, decision-making, creativity and innovation, and social entrepreneurship. He received both the University of Delaware Excellence in Teaching and Excellence in Advising Awards, and regularly helps faculty develop their teaching.

Previously Dr. Middlebrooks co-developed the Organizational and Community Leadership program at UD, the doctoral program in leadership as a professor at Cardinal Stritch University, and spent ten years prior in non-profit leadership positions.

Dr. Middlebrooks is lead author of Discovering Leadership: Designing Your Success, has published numerous articles and book chapters, and has delivered hundreds of presentations. He is co-author of Public Sector Leadership, co-creator of the Idea Fan Deck and Design Thinking Cards, and has served as Symposium Editor for the Journal of Leadership Studies since 2011.

A firm believer that leadership learning can benefit everyone and can make a difference, Dr. Middlebrooks consults and facilitates workshops for a wide variety of organizations and audiences.  His current scholarly interests focus on methods of leadership education and the integration of leadership, creativity, and design thinking.  Dr. Middlebrooks has a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He resides in Wilmington, Delaware with his wife and collaborator Dr. Jules Bruck.
