Nonprofit boards have a lot of different types of decisions they need to make, initiatives to pursue, and policies to monitor. Board committees and task groups can help boards manage the work efficiently and effectively. In this 90 minute session, DANA facilitator, Sheila Bravo will walk participants through considerations on determining how to organize the board to maximize its potential. Strategies for identifying what committee may be necessary, how delegate decisions-making authority, and determining the fine line between staff and board member roles in committee work. Sample committee charters, and strategies to hold productive committee meetings will be included. This is ideal for individuals who serve on a start-up or a board undertaking a strategic transformation.
