Building a Strong and Effective Nonprofit Board of Directors
A 6-Part Series on Good Governance
If we as nonprofit leaders have learned nothing else from the pandemic, it is that we need to be ready to adapt and change … because you never know what might come. And it is easier for organizations to adapt and change if there is strong board leadership in place.
In this 6-part series – offered virtually in 1-hour sessions – we will cover the fundamental components of strong and effective nonprofit governance. In each session, we will review important principles and dimensions, and also provide some tips and tools on how to build capacity in each of the topic areas. The goal of these sessions is to build knowledge and understanding while also providing practical examples and the next steps.
The topics explored in this 6-part series are as follows:
- Effective Nonprofit Governance: The Roles and Responsibilities of a Nonprofit Board (September 12)
- Recruiting a Strong, Engaged, and Diverse Board of Directors (September 26)
- Creating a Welcoming and Inclusive Board Culture (October 10)
- Ensuring Impact and Sustainability (October 24)
- The Role of the Board in Fundraising (November 7)
- Sustaining the Practice of Good Governance: The Board Development Process (November 21)
