Leading through the COVID-19 crisis requires new strategies, skills, and awareness of the stress and anxiety experienced by boards, volunteers, staff and nonprofit leaders themselves. Most have had their work and personal lives upended, and some may have experienced loss. In this small group session, nonprofit executives will explore the impact of trauma on the brain and strategies for promoting mental well-being in themselves and their staff. Participants will learn the concepts of trauma and resilience to help them help their teams respond to uncertainty. Facilitated by Sonia Stamm, these methods are based on content created by First Up, Champions for Early Education, which was underwritten by United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey

Learning Objectives:

  • Raising awareness about the impact of trauma on work quality and team performance
  • Understanding trauma-informed practices for leaders and those they lead
  • Cultivating a sense of community amid the crisis
  • Increasing tools for self-care and leadership in these times

Who Should Attend:

Executive Directors & CEOS of DANA Member nonprofit organizations. To permit conversation this session is limited to 10 attendees. We respectfully request that if your plans change after registering, you notify DANA so another executive may attend. This session will not be recorded to allow for questions and honest dialogue.
