About the Speaker

Pamela Leland, Ph.D. brings more than 30 years of experience in the nonprofit/voluntary sector as a consultant, executive director, teacher, scholar, and volunteer.  Her consulting practice focuses on issues of strategy, nonprofit governance, leadership, executive transitions, and the management of change.

In 2007, Pam established The Leland Leadership Group, LLC, a consulting firm whose mission is to work with nonprofit and philanthropic leaders to strengthen their organizations and increase organizational effectiveness and achievement. She has paused her full-time practice on two occasions to support specific organizations that were important to her. This first occurred in 2013 when she assumed leadership of the Quaker-affiliated Hickman Friends Senior Community (West Chester, PA) to lead them through a 6-year process of campus repositioning and expansion. She also paused her consulting practice to become part of the team at the Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement during a period of growth and change.  During her tenures with both The Hickman and DANA, Pam continued to provide occasional training and consultation on collaborative decision-making, nonprofit governance, and strategic change.

Pamela completed her Ph.D. in Urban Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Delaware. She has an MA in Holistic Spirituality from Chestnut Hill College, an MS in Urban Studies from Georgia State University, and a BA in Journalism from the University of Georgia.

She resides in Kennett Square, PA.
