There is a lot of misunderstanding and confusion about what a charitable nonprofit can – or cannot – do in advocating for change. You can engage in advocacy and lobbying – within certain parameters or situations. Join us for this in-person, interactive workshop just down the street from Legislative Hall in Dover. Learn how you can be a stronger advocate for your mission and the people you serve. Come ready to ask all your important questions!

About the Presenter
Rebecca Byrd is a Partner and General Counsel for ByrdGomes LLC, a government relations and public strategy consulting firm. As a contract lobbyist, she focuses her practice on local and state government relations. They are privileged to represent the Delaware Alliance for Non-Profit Advancement.
Prior to joining The Byrd Group, Rebecca served as deputy legal counsel to Governor Ruth Ann Minner and as deputy attorney general in the Delaware Department of Justice under Attorney General Beau Biden. She also clerked on the Delaware Supreme Court for Justices Carolyn Berger, Jack Jacobs and Henry duPont Ridgely and served as a liaison for the court to the General Assembly. She has also served on several boards and councils.
Rebecca is a graduate of the George Washington University and the Catholic University of America School of Law.
